- One player picks a five-letter word and sends a link.
- The other player picks a word of their own. They guess first.
- You take turns guessing by sending the link back and forth. Each player gets six guesses.
After a guess, a tile shows one of three colors:
- Blue means that letter is in the right spot.
- Amber means that letter is in the word, in a different spot.
- Slate means that letter is not in the word.
If one player solves the word, the other still gets the same number of guesses. When both solve in the same number of guesses, the game is a tie.
If neither player solves in six guesses, the game compares how many letters were in the right spot. If those counts match, it compares how many letters were in the word but not in the right spot.
